Associated Group Health Plan Overview

How it Works

The Associated Group Health Insurance is a Beech Street national PPO Network Plan. It combines several insurance products together to make one comprehensive health plan.

Because it is a PPO Plan you can choose any doctor, however when you choose a network doctor all charges for services rendered are re-priced by Beech Street for you to pre-negotiated rates (discounts are 10 to 35%). Doctors outside the network are handled by the cost containment feature of the Beech Street Corporation.

When you go to your doctor simply present your Medical Reserve Account (MRA) Card. Your MRA card has your insurance group information to assist in filing the claims and is linked to your medical reserve account to pay for services provided.

The claim is then submitted to Companion Life a BCBS of SC Company, your Health Cost Containment Account is indemnified (reimbursed) by them for the specified amount allowed based on one of the 3 plan options for office visits, x-ray & labs, accidents, in-hospital and surgery cost, prescription drugs all with a zero deductible.

Should your situation turn out to be one of those unexpected catastrophes that threatens both your health and wealth the major medical insurance portion of the plan is your safety net. Once the deductible is met all medically necessary care is covered at 100% up to a lifetime maximum of $1,000,000.

The plan is simplified issue and there is an additional plan option that can offer a no waiting period on pre-existing conditions.

plus your MRA savings deposit of a minimum of $25 depending on benefits desired. Any unused deposits and re-imbursements in your MRA at the end of the year are yours to use as your see fit. All options include Apple-a-Day Wellness at NO additional cost for all your Dental, Vision, Hearing and other health needs. The Association Health Plan is for everyone. You can buy Option One without catastrophic coverage for as low as $89.50 for any age group.

When you compare your total health costs, premiums plus co-payments, plus deductibles, plus co-insurance to the total health cost the Associated Group Health Plan, it is an outstanding value.
